Food Porn!

I recently had another first experience thanks to Lars. We took a rather sexy jaunt to BIG SUR because I always wanted to check out that Pacific Coast drive and then we headed to Paso Robles from there. Lars explained that the highway was still under construction, so the unfortunate thing was we had to back track from Big Sur to Paso instead of continuing. I loved this trip so much and I couldn't wait to share our food experiences! In thinking of a title, FOOD PORN was easy because let me tell you..... the food was just beautiful from beginning to end. You know it is going to be the best when you can physically see it growing outside of where you are staying.

Thank you for joining me on tableforsue!! Come along and delight in the deliciousness of Big Sur & Paso Robles. It's Food Porn!!! So I'll probably sneak in some appropriately, inappropriate sexual slurs! (This particular pic comes later in the blog - it is our first course at Six Test Kitchen in Paso Robles and I was making all kinds of noise when this hit my mouth. It was the best tuna of my life.)

Our trip began after landing in San Francisco and grabbing our rental. November 2023. Heading to Big Sur.

I am super duh when it comes to cars, but I think this is a Dodge? All I know it was very cute and we had fun riding the highway in it. Oh yes doctor, I'd love a ride! 😈

As soon as we arrived at Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur https://www.postranchinn.com/ actually took my breath way. Everywhere you roamed there was a respect and focus on nature and the history of this area. It was so peaceful and private. I wondered why we were only staying two days. It is quite expensive to stay at Post Ranch Inn, but I can absolutely see why because every possible detail that you can think of is covered with the service and accommodations here. Wow!!

This was our charming ocean cottage below and the photo above is our view. Every accommodation has a private view so you can't see the ocean front rooms' view unless you are inside or in the water. Which basically means we could be totally naked in our cottage and we did not have to worry about other guests or staff seeing us naked. If we chose to be naked, that is. Which we did.

We had an exceptional meal at Sierra Mar right at Post Ranch Inn. The farmer here is in the garden around the clock and oh my gosh was it a beautiful garden! All of those delicious ingredients from the soil to the plate. And the view at sunset - I was in awe!

not so porny starters

bean salad - an amooze-boosh of goat cheese and orange - halibut / romaine

If you click that handy arrow on the soup pic; you can view our Sierra Mare courses - they do a tremendous job here at Point Ranch and I highly recommend a getaway here! We spent two nights here and it was all about walking through the beautiful forest, taking in the tremendous ocean scapes, dining on the fruits of the land, and taking many pauses to pray & give gratitude.

I finished a very steamy book right there... it was heaven.

We left Big Sur and headed toward Paso Robles on the 3rd day - a map for your viewing pleasure.

Paso Robles was jaw droppingly breathtaking.

Lars and I fully and completely encourage anyone who visits Paso Robles to pre reserve an evening at https://sixtestkitchen.com/ ! We had the pleasure of dining with four other guests (hence SIX test 😏) as Chef Ricky and his team just kept blowing us away course after course. This was FOOD PORN at its finest. You should have heard my groans and witnessed how I'd tilt my neck back and jolt up again with delight! Ricky was so chill and gracious and everyone!! on his team managed this balance of the highest professionalism and respect for the ingredients married with this way relaxed, warmth that was so approachable and enjoyable. This was some of the best food I have ever had in my life! Bravo Six Test Kitchen! I was inspired!

I would not want to butcher the descriptions and no menu was printed so just know that the utmost care goes into sourcing and foraging for seasonal, sustainable, stunning ingredients at Six Test Kitchen. It was such an inspired experience as cooks & food enthusiasts.

5 kisses and then some!
